Ramanandacharya’s role in bringing back Hindus forcefully converted to other religions, back into the Hindu fold

Converting to Hinduism, Miscellaneous, Videos
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KObhh12mrY0 People who criticize Ramanand, claim that Kabir was not his disciple, are unable to come up with any coherent arguments to support their arguments. They keep talking in a confused manner. However, Ramananad ji’s role in bringing back Hindus who had been forcibly converted to other religions is very big. This is a very big thing he did, which nobody else had done before him. Only a warrior saint could achieve such a thing. To put it in plain terms, (we will move the slide forward), the norm in those days was that Hindus had been forced to accept Islam under the threat of the sword, threatened with such a scenario, the Hindu will convert to Islam, he has no option but to do so. People were being converted in lakhs. However, the fanatic, wi

Hinduism: Understanding Karma and Reincarnation

Hinduism, Videos, What is Hinduism
Source: - Dharma Speaks YouTube Channel. Reincarnation can be a difficult concept to accept. But the idea makes sense when we understand that we are not what we take ourselves to be. The Masters and scriptures declare that beyond our physical and mental existence we are the Atman. Life is a cosmic journey where the Atman samples different aspects of life through different incarnations. Karma is the force of the universe that makes this happen. It is not a moral judge, but a law which allows us to create our future. Eventually after many lives we seek to break the ties of Karma and repeated birth and death, through Yoga. Yoga is the method of centering our consciousness on the Atman. When we do this we rise above our Samskaras (impressions) and reach a state beyond Karma and Rebirth - W...

Hinduism, Indic Religions, What is Hinduism
Source: - Prashant Parikh FB Post. By tradition, based mostly upon the planetary position, the fourteenth day of this particular fortnight every year [one day before new moon when Sun is in Kumbha] is looked upon as a day of initiation, religious, spiritual initiation. Also, it is a day dedicated purely for prayers. Many people take sannyas on this day. Today in India many Anandas might have been born. Today barbers also have a field day. They remove the hair; it is sort of a wholesale thing. So in Rishikesh you will find a number of people getting initiated into monastic order, a sannyasa, a life of a monk, on this particular day, Shivaratri day. And I also became a sannyasi on this particular day. The teachers decide to givesannyas to the students and they call the students and tell th...

Source: - Maria Wirth Blog. “Can you imagine – in Europe there are people who believe there is no Bhagawan (God)!” Baba Ramdev, a highly popular yogi, said this to a sea of thousands of Indian schoolchildren with an expression of genuine wonderment on his face. I saw it on TV and it made me smile. He is right. In Europe there are people who believe there is no God and I almost had become one of them. It is quite normal there. Yet for most Indians this is unbelievable: ‘Don’t these Europeans have any reasoning power? Can’t they come to the conclusion that there must be an invisible power and intelligence at the base of this vast universe and actually in our own bodies made up of billions of intelligent cells, as well? ‘They certainly have a point. However, most Indians are not aware why

Why Jesus cannot save the converts

Courtesy:- This article was published in Indiafacts.org , written by Kalavai Venkat. Snapshot:- Professing your belief in Jesus is totally unnecessary. You can commit the foulest offenses against Jesus or the Holy Spirit without worrying about the consequence because Jesus has anyway irreversibly predestined whether you go to heaven or hell! Christian fanatics zealously announce, “Jesus Saves!” In this article, I will decisively argue that Jesus is powerless to save the converts. Let us begin with an understanding of what free will and predestination mean in Christianity. Does one accept Jesus as the messiah out of free will or is it all predestined? In other words, are we saved from eternal damnation in hell by exercising our free will or is it a chance outcome decided by
WHAT IS MEANT BY ‘GOD’?

WHAT IS MEANT BY ‘GOD’?

Hinduism, Indic Religions
Source: - Maria Wirth Blog. We keep using the English term „God“ as if we know what it means. But do we? “Of course”, many may reply: “God is the English term for the Creator of the universe, for the Highest Truth.” Few will doubt that this universe and we included have to come from somewhere and ‘God’ is given as the answer. He is seen as the ultimate power, the highest truth, from which all else emanates. Yet somehow, ‘God’ has taken on strange attributes in public perception: He is invariably male, and has allegedly spoken to a few special persons and told them what he wants from us humans. He is also said to be compassionate and loves those who believe in him and who follow the instructions sent down through those special people, but he won’t have any mercy for those who don’t follo
DO WE NEED RELIGION?

DO WE NEED RELIGION?

Hinduism, Indic Religions
Source: Maria Wirth  Blog. Before answering this question, let’s first find out what we need: We need to know how to live life in the best possible way to be happy, healthy, confident, strong and capable, and how to live in harmony with others and nature. And we need to find answers to important, basic questions, like: What is the purpose of life? Where did we come from? Where will we go from here? What is this world made of? And most important: Who are we? Our present day science doesn’t give us the necessary guidance, nor does it give answers to these questions, as it still is in its infancy exploring consciousness. Our conscience is no doubt helpful in living a good, moral life. Yet it does not help us much in diving into the mysteries behind this universe and our own per

How effective has the Sudarshan Kriya been for people who did the Art of Living course? Are there any health issues to be concerned about when doing this? (Excerpt)

Hinduism, Karma Yoga, Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, Yoga
Source: - Swami Purnachaitanya / Quora. First of all I would like to mention that the Sudarshan Kriya is mainly effective for those who have done the Art of Living course, as there is no other place to learn this technique properly, and it only affects other people indirectly - as in, when you become a more healthy, happy, caring and responsible person it will indirectly affect the people around you, but you breathing in a different manner will not directly affect the people around you (unless you make a lot of noise or have a smelly breath ;-)). As for the Sudarshan Kriya being effective, it again depends on what you mean it to be effective for: if you are asking if it is effective in cleaning your house or paying your debts, then probably not. However, if you are asking how effective i...
