Caste system is from Europe. Derived from Portuguese word ‘casta'. Varna on the other hand belongs to Sanatana Dharma. Varna is decided by Karma and not by Janma. The discourse on religion in India has been allowed to go on lopsided for far too long. Maria Wirth raises tough issues Indians themselves shy away from. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gCBiVRyyVMQ&t=7s

In a conversation with Maria Wirth, author of the book “Thank you India – a German woman’s journey to the wisdom of yoga." The discourse on religion in India has been allowed to go on lopsided for far too long. Maria Wirth raises tough issues Indians themselves shy away from. Her astute observations on how it is inclusive and liberating Hinduism, as against indoctrinating and violent Christianity and Islam, that offers the best recourse for humanity even though it has been maligned endlessly as the worst, bring the much-needed perspective into the discussion. She also brings enriching insights into difficult subjects like the mischievous agenda of the West in misrepresenting Hinduism, the brutal stranglehold of religions claiming exclusivity over God on their people and the fear-psychology
Understanding Caste From The Hindu Perspective

Understanding Caste From The Hindu Perspective

Hinduism, What is Hinduism
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k7q_LtZUJZw   If there is one issue which is used to demonize Hinduism relentlessly, it is ‘caste’. While one cannot simply wish away the prejudices of caste discrimination, an honest and unbiased study of ‘caste’ warrants a deeper understanding of the subject. It is imperative that one asks - how much does caste have to do with religion? How much of it is a result of centuries of social development? The very word ‘caste’, a foreign imposition, is alien to the Hindu ethos. Ancient Hindu scriptures, from the Rg Veda to the Bhagvad Gita promote the merits of the Varna system, which classifies society into distinct classes based upon their inherent natural qualities. All classes are equal yet not the same. Performing their duties selflessly, these

Source: Facebook - Isha Foundation https://www.facebook.com/IshaUSA/videos/10155962478079146?sfns=0   There have been numerous explanations of Karma prevalent in Hindu society through the ages, and the one that classifies Karma as an overly simplistic, if somewhat fearsome ‘Reward and Punishment’ formula has gained maximum traction with lay people over centuries. While a serious seeker of Jnana Yoga or a diligent sadhaka of Raja Yoga, or even a pious devotee of Bhakti Marg may begin to unravel the layers of the profound and unrelenting theory of Karma with an inner, esoteric understanding, ordinary folk with their concerns of worldly duties and responsibilities, are often left groping for a deeper understanding of Karma and how it impacts their lives in a real way. In this video, Sa
