Samarth Ramdas was a Marathi Poet, Saint and a Social figure that motivated the then society through his influential writings and by promoting Ram and Hanuman bhakti cult. He was contemporary of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and traditionally and historically too, it is believed that Samarth Ramdas guided Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. Among his influential writings, Dasbodh and Manache Shlok are the most cherished and preferred writings by the general public.
He has been known as skilled in Management, Social Sciences, Calligraphy and most importantly the promotion of Surya-Namaskar. He revived the ancient tradition of Surya-Namaskar as the means of gaining power and status.
