According to an article published in a British magazine "The Vegetarian" in 1891, Indians generally never ate breakfast, ate their lunch at around 10 am and dinner at around 8 pm. It states that their religion and custom compels them not to take more than two meals in one day.

The same article also mentions that those who have learnt a little bit of English have picked up English ideas here and there, and thus have begun to believe in breakfast and a cup or two of tea. 😃
